“Protecting and Fulfilling the Rights of the Child in the Light of Faith”

SPCC VISION MISSION GOAL

Mission

  • We, the SPCC, are a group of Salvatorian Sisters and committed lay partners inspired by the founders of the Sisters of the Divine Savior.
  • We believe that children have rights and as such, promotion of children’s rights is integral to the SDS mission. Children are our future.
  • We believe in the inherent capacity of the local communities/parishes to protect the rights of the child. The Church, by virtue of its mandate from the people, assumes great responsibility in upholding the well-being and the future of the children. Thus, the major challenge is to build child-friendly parishes.
  • We believe, also, in the capacity of children to uphold and protect their rights.
  • We believe that participatory approaches will lead to empowerment of the people.

Goals

  • To facilitate the development of a child-friendly parish thru community–based interventions and strategies in child protection which consider the Filipino culture and the context of poor communities.
  • To inspire and foster a caring and nurturing environment for children within the families and communities.
  • To minimize the risks involved (both short and long term) for children who are in need of special protection through ensuring adequate emergency, basic and social services.

√ The above vision, mission and goals of SPCC is viewed in the context of the vision, mission and goals of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Savior (SDS) in the Philippine Region. As the legal holder of SPCC, the SDS Philippine Region ensures that the vision, mission and goals of SPCC are aligned with the vision, mission and goals of the Congregation.
